NU•ANCE THEATRE PRESENTS

SALVATION
A Divine NEW Comedy

by James McLindon          Directed by Craig Hutchison

Winner of the John DeSotelle Studio / Nu·ance Theatre 2014 New Play Competition in its New York City Premier

SALVATION takes place in the humble and inconspicuous apartment of Jack Grace, a self-proclaimed “greatest bank robber in history”.  Now, at the end of his crime-filled life, Jack sits dying, attended only by Bartholomew, his browbeaten son who despises him as much as he loves him. Remembering the 2nd grade teachings of a nun in his Catholic school - no matter how evil a life he led, he could still go to heaven provided he made a perfect deathbed confession – Jack and Bartholomew call for the services of a local priest to gain access to the pearly gates.  Enter Father Gallagher, a soul-weary priest, about to encounter the most bizarre confession of his career. In the end, all find their just reward, even Jack’s thieving accomplice Tommy, who arrives on the scene in the eleventh hour demanding his cut of the infamous twenty-million dollar bank heist.

Nu•ance Theatre welcomes back to the stage three company members in this original comedy!  Sinner-extraordinaire Jack Grace is played by Richard Fiske* (Waiting for Lefty and Raft of the Medusa),  Michael Citriniti* as the faith-shaken Father Gallagher (Awake & Sing!), Scott Brieden, the Broken-Spirited Son Bartholomew (How I Learned to Drive) and first time on the Nu•ance Theatre Stage Steven Randazzo*  as the notorious Tommy.
